ABOUT US
THE BEGINNING:
We were founded in 2022 out of growing concern for the gaps in services being able to be provided for the increasing numbers of individuals, families, and communities that are impacted by substance use and mental health challenges and conditions. We believe that part of the missing services are able to be provided through grassroots community organizations that have "boot on the ground" without some of the barriers of traditional health care services and modelsThe needs in these two rural counties is tremendous. Out of the 102 counties in Illinois, these two counties rank in the top 5 in several detrimental categories. After working in these counties for over a decade, our director decided to start a non-profit that helped fill the gaps that are often created by the limited resources available.
MISSION AND FOCUS:
Our mission is to partner with individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted by substance use, mental health challenges/conditions, or incarceration. Unfortunately, in most rural counties across the United States, there is a high percentage of the population that has been directly impacted by one, if not more, of the three conditions listed above. Our focus is to be a “boots on the ground organization” and provide direct non-clinical services through a network of peers who have both lived experience and professional training and certification.
THE NETWORK:
We are fortunate to partner with several state and local agencies as well as many outpatient & inpatient treatment facilities, business owners, property owners, and community organizations. Most of the times when individuals try to move on a path of wellness, they don’t know the next step. Through our extensive network, we are able to partner with individuals and families and guide them to the next best step in their journey of wellness.
